NEW BEGINNINGS in 2014

HAPPY  NEW YEAR to all our families!

Our goal is to support the musical development of our students in every way possible, so that each students reaches her/his full potential. This is why we are making changes now.

Within this month we will be renewing and adjusting all classes
and starting a new Beginners Class on Wednesday afternoons.
Here is a brief review of the changes:

 Level 1:
1. All diligent students who are paid up and regularly attending class receive a 30 minute private lesson alternate Tuesdays,Thursdays or Wednesdays- this will be very beneficial to their progress. There is no additional cost. However it is ESSENTIAL that your child attend every lesson. If you know you will not able to attend EVERY time, we will discontinue your lessons and assign the teacher to a different student. IF any lessons are missed, without at least 48 hours prior notice to Claudia and the teacher, your lessons will be discontinued. We cannot pay teachers for missed lessons. Make sure you keep track of the dates. The first lessons begin the week of January 20th.

2. The Level 1"Readers" will be moving to the 4:45 time slot starting Tuesday January14th-
This allows more attention to be devoted to all students in both Level 1 groups.

Level 2:
Starting Tuesday the 14th of January, some level 2 students who have worked ahead in the AFS Method Book will be moving into the level 3 class which arrives for set up at 3:45 pm and ends 4:45. They will be required to practice diligently and receive assistance on new music at individual lessons. All regularly attending students in good standing will receive private lessons where they will be coached on class music and, where merited, additional musical assignments. REMINDER However it is ESSENTIAL that your child attend every lesson. If you know you will not able to attend EVERY time, we will discontinue your lessons and assign the teacher to a different student. If any lessons are missed, without at least 48 hours prior notice to Claudia and the teacher, your lessons will be discontinued. ..

Level 3:
The more advanced students  in Level 3 who have demonstrated their diligence in learning our music will be assigned a solo piece to prepare for the final concert in June. Diligent second violinists will be moved into 1st violin. All students will receive specific coaching on the new class material in private lessons.
