HERE's the EXCITING NEWS for our BEGINNERS!
 
Reading MUSIC is actually the study of a new language-the really good news  though is that, while one must learn many different languages to speak any where else in the world, with music there IS only one universal language-
You can use it EVERYWHERE that you play!
SO BEGINNERS , you are about to join in to this universal club of musicians!
 
AT this time of year I look around our Beginner class and see some very lovely positions and listen to some lovely and harmonious sounds
Those who are maintaining their practice routine
 are moving forward beautifully!
 
HOMEWORK THIS WEEK
ADVANCED
DON"T FORGET!!! Vibrato exercise DAILY -slow and with even pulses
2.Scales  TWO octave D, and G  Bass-one octave asc. and desc.
3. Bach Air : counting evenly continue to work carefully on the first section: bars 1-12
4.  Ipanema:Continue slow and careful work, with teacher help 
 
5. All of MacPherson -drill yourself slowly on hard parts. FULL sound on melody parts
6. Fiddle Dance : ALL continue to perfect perfect short difficult parts

INTERMEDIATE
Scales: D and G- special attention  to perfect position and tuning.
Review AFS. :165,168,171,176, 177

BEGINNERS
 
1. DAILY WARM UP open -1 string cycle:  CHECK for perfect RH and LH
 
2. Scale of D- long bows and careful tuning
3. TWINKLES:
(a)Long bows 
 
(b) Mrssippi hotdog: at middle of bow-R elbow mov't
(c) Run Pony:  LONG short short
(d)  Mrssippi Mrssippi short bow at middle with right elbow movt
 4. LIGHTLY ROW. Follow your line in the note sheet handed out in class
