PARENTS' NOTICE BOARD

Most of you now know that we will be holding ONE CONCERT June 16th at 5 pm.
This is due to the Towers Management kindly providing chairs to accommodate us and our audience.
4 pm rehearsal for all students
Doors will open at 4:45 for our guests.

WE ARE HAPPY TO AVOID THE INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING TO COME AND GO TWICE THAT DAY.

 It’s ALL about helping the children experience the fruit of all their (and YOUR) work this year!


Parent Teacher Discussions: THIS WEEK May27/28 Wednesday and Thursday, we begin Parent interviews during your child’s private lesson time. Claudia has arranged the schedule. I look forward to sharing thoughts re:child's progress,your suggestions etc. 
For Beginners, a Tuesday time will be arranged where necessary.



YEAR END POOL PARTY
Thank you to the parents who have offered to help with arranging for FREE PIZZA for the year end party.

The last MATT class/Year-end Party will be Tuesday June 23rd. All students attend at 4pm, then gather for pool party, and refreshments,
at Ms. Currie's home, very close to Towers. Details to follow. 

Possible Performance: Classic Car show in Mall parking lot-June



THIS WEEK'S HOMEWORK

Beginners:

PRACTICECHARTS TO BE FILLED IN FOR FOUR/FIVE  DAYS PRACTICE

1.     Review note reading thoroughly every day- NEW NOTE READING –AFS BOOK
  #32 page 19. Continue to #35
G STRING notes : G A B see page 33 in your book-

2.. Review Twinkle Long Bows, Miss Hot dog and I STOP and YOU STOP  eg “D D rest D A A rest A” etc.
    

3. Review Lightly Row- short short long. etc.: half bows for short and whole bows for long:

Intermediates:

1.     Skaters Waltz: Continue working up to bar 52 quarter note melodies -very smooth bowing
2.     Sahara Crossing- work on your hard parts: especially :violin/viola bars19 to 25 and cellos bars 41 to 51

3. Viva la Vida: practice Practice the correct down and up bowsfor your main rhythm bar 1 OR bar 13
the rhythm on open strings  AT  FROG of bow. 

4. Pomp and Circumstance- YOUR concert piece

 Advanced


1.     Sonata by Scarlatti: Practice each eighth note bars separately, with perfect tuning and smooth sound.
This week we will play it with Kalpi, so be sure to know your part well!

2.     VIVA LA VIDA Continue through the whole piece –counting melody lines carefully rhythms and melodies are repeated. to be ready to play Tuesday

3. Continue learning Bach Air- aim for very smooth long in tune eighth notes

       4.  BACH BRANDENBURG- ALL!!

       5.  Continue perfecting the notes and melodies of  MacPherson.
