MUSICAL STEPS FORWARD

February 22/17
                                                      PARENT NOTES

  • Thank you to Parents and students who wrote comments on their Feb. 11 Rose/Rosebud Orchestra experience. It is interesting to hear how observant some of you are about various aspects you have learned through MATT. ("Some players didn't sit with their feet  flat on the floor- good point- but in fairness, they are not beginners") And it is great to know that you enjoyed it! ("It was an awesome experience!" ) The MATT Concert attendance requirement is meant to ensure that our students and parents realize the potential for our students who progress well!  The NEXT ROSE/ROSE BUD CONCERT is April 29th!!
  • Music stands and method books have now been distributed to all beginners.
  • Next is completion of Inventory. Be prepared to let Yogita check your instrument and accessory number during class. Thanks for you co-operation.
  • REPAIRS: Sadly we have had some costly repairs recently, some paid by parents of students who had accidents with their instrument. Please be extra careful when handling your instrument- they are very fragile, and costly to fix!

MUSIC STANDS for ALL!

February 8, 2017,

PARENT NOTES

  • Special NOTE:  Thanks to Parent Carol Taylor for our new streamlined BLOG look!
  • Beginners Private Lessons: Well, we've gotten through the first run of Beginners' lessons, found some glitches and hopefully are in place now to go forward with less trepidation n everyone's part! ! Practice is the not- so-secret  " secret ingredient" for success, as you know, so be consistent with this- and with attendance at classes and lessons. You'll  see clear results in both skill and confidence!
  • Rose Orchestra Concert  February 11, 8pm  Rose Orchestra. If you missed your chance to get tickets, you can still attend. Our MATT rates are gone for this time, but call the box office 905-874 2800 and ask for "Friends 50" discount OR buy an adult ticket and get one free kid's seat . If you do attend, listen for "Palladio"- this is MATT"S Finale piece for this year's June Concert- ALL students will be playing it!
  • MUSIC STANDS ORDER: All Beginners will need to have a music stand to bring to class and for home practice, within the next two weeks. You are free to buy our own, but we are offering a very good stand at abut $10 off regular price. MATT does NOT make money on this- it is just for parents' convenience. We have had a slight change in our offer from our source- it is now $34.00 (incl tax) for a German made strong silver- colored stand with a carry bag. It should last a lifetime! Please place your order by next Tuesday/Wednesday so we can bring them in for the next week.
  • SMALL BLACK  MATT T SHIRT? If anyone has a size SMALL (or smaller) t shirt - not the current purple one, would you mind letting us have it for a  " shadow box"  in our hallway? If you might , would you please have a look around just in case. THANKS SO MUCH Andrea
