COUNTING DOWN TO CONCERT DAY

PARENT NOTES

FINAL  THREE WEEKS: of MATT 2018/19 :

   Tuesday May 22-  not at the TOWERS  -   (final) CLASS REHEARSALS for ALL
             at HOLLAND CHRISTIAN HOMES  (HCH) 7900 McLaughlin Rd South :

  • Enter  at "MAIN ENTRANCE" door
  •    parking at HCH You may park in any spot which is NOT labeled RESERVED                                                     
  •    TIMES of arrival :Choral  Rehearsal 5:45 to 6:10 including  Northern River at 6pm
                            Tuesday and Thursday Beginnersarrive 3:45 class 4:00 -4:45 stay for                                                                                                              Northern River t 5:45 if possible
                           Tuesday and Thursday Intermediatesarrive 4:45 class 5 to 5:45 
                           Advanced :arrive 5:45 class  6 -7pm
  • bring your instrument, stand , concert music
  • wear casual /school clothing    

CONCERT  Tuesday May 29: Holland Christian Homes- Heritage Hall,7900 McLaughlin Rd. S 

DRESS REHEARSAL
4:15 pm  ALL students arrive at  
4:30 to 5:30 pm FULL REHEARSAL  
5:30 Break- Bring a small snack if you think your child will be be hungry- they will join into refreshments after the concert  
5:50 Concert set up time

FINALE SHOWCASE CONCERT 
6 pm  to 7:15 pm 
WHAT to WEAR MATT t-shirts, dress pants/skirt/  dress shoes DRESS UP!

WHAT to BRING your instrument, stand , concert music in folder
                           invite all your family and friends- no admission fee.
                                        
HOMEWORK THIS WEEK

All students are now in concert preparation mode for the next two weeks

Find all your concert pieces below and practice each one for perfect timing, tuning, bowing   and  beautiful sound.
When you have worked hard to learn your part, the concert is a an amazing musical experience for you and your audience!!

PARENTS:CONCERT REFRESHMENTS  It is our tradition to serve  refreshments to our concert guests, including residents of HCH.  Please sign up to bring something beverage / snack / fruit.Thank you Intermediate Parent Mercy Mantey for organizing the sign up!~!

Linette Gowe and mercy will be the co-ordinators- all are asked to help on cocnert days,  who will manage the set up and clean up. Please help!. Thank you.



YEAR END DATES and SUMMER INFO

TUESDAY JUNE 5: Year - end AWARDS CELEBRATION  4 to 6pm Ms Currie’s yard!
NO INSTRUMENTS! Bring your bathing suit if you know how to swim. 
All swimmers MUST be supervised by his/her parent at all times! 
A qualified life guard has been hired .

SUMMER MATT Activities
1. Have your child continue playing and learning over the summer if you can- especially beginners. Schedule a few lessons-a great motivator.

2 . MATT Booths at Brampton Farmers' Market:  June 30, July 14, August 11 and Sept 1st
for program promotion 

 Email andrea@musicatthetowers to volunteer for your  available date(s) 
               Shift times: 7 to 10:30 or 10:30 to 1pm We NEED your help!.

3.   Advanced students perform the June 30 and  and August 11 dates. 
Please mark these into your calendar! 


4. June 6 till mid. August - MATT office is closed

5. August  13: Auditions schedule  posted for Advanced class applicants and current students.  Auditions are held end of August. Audition Requirements are available now. 

6. Beginners Registration: August 13 to September  11. Classes start September 18

7. Advanced and Intermediate Registration: August 13 to September  7.Classes start Sept 11th
